However, when Sakura was 6 months old, she was kidnapped by Kouji Chigasaki. Her real father, Kei Honjou, rushed to the ransom delivery without even calling the police, but he died in a car accident halfway through and couldn't deliver the ransom money. Kouji Chigasaki heard the news about that and realized he would get no Honjou money in this state. It would be dangerous to try to return the baby, so he decided to raise her as his daughter instead.
